Day-visitor volume in a village of about 2,400 residents has pushed the municipality into discussing entry charges and visitor caps, and the coach and day-trip traffic now runs well outside July and August. There is no week we can honestly call quiet, and the ground route we published sent people into the busiest of it. We were part of that.

A valley village under the Staubbach falls in the Bernese Oberland, on the rail approach to the Jungfrau region, with a resident population of roughly 2,400.
